Regeneration of cylinder rods

The regeneration of cylinder rods is a process that restores their full functionality, durability, and precision without the need for costly replacement with new parts. During operation, rods are exposed to intense wear—abrasion, corrosion, microcracks, or deformations.

At TOOLE, we specialize in the comprehensive restoration of rod surfaces, bringing back their original dimensions, geometry, and technical parameters.

Our range of services

The regeneration of cylinder rods in our workshop includes:

  • disassembly and detailed technical assessment of wear,
  • repair of mechanical damage—scratches, pitting, deformations,
  • removal of old coatings and surface preparation,
  • technical chrome plating with a new high-hardness protective layer,
  • grinding and polishing of the working surface to the required roughness,
  • dimensional and quality control after the process is completed.

We regenerate steel rods as well as those made from other metal alloys, including hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders from various manufacturers.

Technology and parameters

The regeneration process is carried out using technical chrome plating with a coating hardness of 800–1100 HV, ensuring high resistance to wear, corrosion, and chemical interactions.
Through precise grinding and polishing, we achieve a perfectly smooth working surface, ensuring excellent compatibility with cylinder seals and eliminating the risk of leaks.

We regenerate rods up to 1100 mm in length and 300 mm in diameter, maintaining the original tolerances and technical parameters specified by the manufacturer.

We make order fulfillment as simple and predictable as possible. That's why we follow a clear workflow:

1.

Data submission

At the start, you provide us with technical drawings, a sample part, or general technological assumptions. If needed, we visit your facility to gather dimensions and detailed information essential for completing the project.

2.

Technical documentation, quotation and order

Next, our engineers prepare the technical documentation, which you receive for approval. Once approved, we provide you with a detailed quotation and scope of work. After you accept the offer and send your order via email, we begin the production process.

3.

Order fulfillment

Your order is entered into our production system. We create a production guide, procure the necessary materials, and pass the project to the production department. There, the component is manufactured precisely according to the agreed specifications.

4.

Quality control and shipping

The finished component undergoes a thorough quality control process. Once completed, we notify you that the work is finished. We issue the necessary documents and arrange the delivery method – you can either pick up the order in person or have it shipped to you.

Frequently asked questions about technology and order fulfillment

We can regenerate piston rods with a maximum diameter of up to 300 mm.

This means that if the piston rod in your cylinder does not exceed this value, we can undertake its regeneration without any additional dimensional limitations.

If your piston rod has a diameter greater than 300 mm or if you are unsure of the measurement, feel free to contact us. We will gladly advise you on whether the part falls within our capabilities and discuss potential alternative solutions.

The maximum length of a piston rod that we can regenerate as part of our service is 1500 mm.

This means that piston rods up to 1.5 meters in length can undergo repair, restoration to factory tolerances, and surface protection. For piston rods longer than 1500 mm, we recommend contacting us directly — we may propose an alternative solution or assess the possibility of performing regeneration in stages.

If you have a piston rod of a specific length, feel free to send us technical documentation or photos — we will gladly advise you on whether it falls within our scope of regeneration work and discuss any conditions that may apply to non-standard lengths.

Yes, we chrome piston rods. As part of our services, we offer comprehensive regeneration of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder piston rods, which includes the chroming process. This allows us to restore the original functional properties of the components, and in many cases, even improve them.

During regeneration, we perform precise measurements and assess wear, followed by preparing the surface for the application of a hard chrome layer. Chroming ensures high resistance to wear, corrosion, and mechanical damage. As a result, piston rods regain durability, smoothness, and excellent performance characteristics.

We use modern technologies and materials, enabling us to achieve a very high-quality chrome coating. Every component, after regeneration and chroming, undergoes thorough quality control to ensure its reliable operation during further use. Our goal is to provide clients with factory-level services — precise, durable, and aesthetically refined.

Yes, we adjust piston rod diameters to meet the individual needs of our clients. As part of the regeneration process, we thoroughly analyze the technical condition of the component and, if necessary, precisely adjust the diameter to ensure a perfect fit with seals and other cylinder components. This allows us to restore the full functionality of the device and ensure its long-term, trouble-free operation.

During regeneration, we use modern machining methods such as grinding, chroming, and polishing, which enable us to achieve the required dimensional accuracy and high surface quality. Each stage is carried out with great attention to detail to ensure the final result meets manufacturer standards and user expectations.

Our goal is not only to repair but also to optimize the performance of the cylinder. That’s why we always select the appropriate technological solutions, including the correct piston rod diameters, to guarantee reliable operation over the long term.
